Princess Daisy is the energetic and tomboyish ruler of Sarasaland and a recurring character in the Mario franchise. She is best friends with Princess Peach and is often presented as Luigi's love interest. Daisy first appeared in the 1989 Game Boy launch game Super Mario Land, where she was a damsel in distress rescued by Mario from the alien warlord Tatanga. Since her reappearance in Mario Tennis on the Nintendo 64 in 2000, she has become a staple playable character in many Mario spin-off games, including Mario Kart and Mario Party.
